Types / Styles

FLAT STYLE (Type F27)

Makes it easier to control grinding directions and is therefore suitable for edge treatment.

ANGLED STYLE (Type F27)

Curved flaps contour perfectly for fillet weld grinding while also allowing for efficient flat surface grinding.

CONICAL STYLE (Type F29)

Maximum aggression for fast stock removal. The angle provides greater surface contact for maximum stock removal.

Angled-style flap discs (Type F27) deliver an aggressive, long-life solution for grinding fillet welds, T-joints, and other hard-to-reach places. The 90˚ angled flap design forms perfectly into angles while the phenolic back provides stability to the flaps. This combination optimizes flap-to-metal contact, resulting in exceptional feel and control for the operator while grinding and finishing.

Metalynx Angled flap disc delivers a competitive advantage:

  • Smooth finish in fillets – While grinding fillet welds, the angled flaps reduce the risk of gouging the work-piece.
  • The flexibility of approach – Angled flaps allow the operator to grind at a higher or lower angle, getting into hard-to-reach places more easily.
  • Aggressive grinding – Removes more material in less time so you get the job done faster.
  • Long Life – Grinds longer on steel, stainless, aluminum, and other hard-to-grind metals, lowering the cost of use.
