THE SAFETY AND QUALITY OF OUR PRODUCTS ARE PARAMOUNT AT WEILER ABRASIVES.

safe product

1. Check if the product you are about to use meets the local regulatory standards: check for EN norm and OSA sign.
2. Check expiry date: ensure it has not been exceeded if listed on the product.

safe product

3. Check the product for any possible cracks, damages, or rust on the product. Dispose of the product if there are any damages!
4. Ensure the proper storage conditions:

Resin-bonded wheels must be stored in a dry, well-ventilated place without wide temperature variation and frost. Humidity should be between 50 - 60% because humidity softens the organic bond, and the wheels age faster.

Markings

Safety standards:
Our products are manufactured per the EN norm and are regularly audited by the OSA (Organization for the Safety of Abrasives). Check for these signs on the wheel!

Pictograms

Universal pictograms are used to simplify the communication of the safe and correct use of abrasives.

Maximum RPMs

Max RPMs on the machine should never exceed the number cited on the wheel! Before mounting the wheel, check the RPMs on the device and the wheel!

Validity & traceability

With marks on the ring, we ensure traceability and validity. With these markings, we know the production machine, shift, and day of production. Bellow is the month and year of production stated. By adding three years to the production date, it indicates the product expiry date.

Forms:

We produce a broad range of cutting and grinding wheels, which come in different forms. The type of form is stated on the product.

Material of an application

When choosing the right product, check for the information on which workpiece the product should be used. This is important due to possible incompatibility between materials or cross-contamination

MACHINE

SAFETY CHECK:
  • Make sure that the grinder is fully operational and safe.
  • Check the head for any possible cracks.
  • Inspect the cable for any cuts or exposed wires.

START:
  • Allow the tool to run at full speed for at least 30 seconds.
  • Slowly approach the edge of the workpiece.
  • Be careful that the cutting point is not too far away from the fixed point of the workpiece.
  • Please do not use your hand or foot to fix the workpiece as it must be properly affixed!
AFTER:
  • When done, wait for the wheel to stop spinning!

QUALITY AND SAFETY ASSESSMENT

QUALITY. PERFORMANCE. SAFETY.

At Weiler, the quality of our products is paramount. It is a pillar that our mission and vision stand on. Weiler products are designed and manufactured to the strictest standards to ensure the highest level of quality and safety. Every batch is diligently tested to ensure our products consistently meet the high-quality standards our customers expect.

Safety tests applied to our products are:

SIDELOAD TEST

We test how much sideload the product can resist. The wheel is spined and met with side pressure that measures and records the force when the wheel breaks. This is most important for products designed for freehand machine use.

UNBALANCE TEST

We test the weight distribution of our wheel by applying a clamp to the wheel. With this method, we ensure that the products do not exceed the value of the difference in weight required by the standard.

BURST SPEED TEST

To measure the maximum rotation speed when the wheel breaks, we apply the Burst speed test. The wheel is spined to its maximum and recorded on our computer/machine.

RUN-OUT

With 2 measurements, we test if the wheel rotates exactly in line with the main axis. These are axial, measuring width and curvature, and radial, which measures if the hole is centered correctly on the product.

QUALITY TESTS

Using automated technology simulating manual work, we exclude the human factor to measure cutting and grinding quality. The test is repeatable under the same conditions, making our measurements very accurate.
