WEILER ABRASIVES GROUP RAISES $100,000 TO SUPPORT POCONO MOUNTAINS UNITED WAY

The generous employees of Weiler Abrasives Group, the Cresco-based global abrasives manufacturer, raised more than $40,000 in their annual campaign benefiting Pocono Mountains United Way. The company matched that effort with a $60,000 corporate contribution, bringing Weiler’s total donation to $100,000.
The money raised will support Pocono Mountains United Way’s Monroe County programming initiatives that address poverty alleviation, healthy food access, and critical housing needs for local families.

CrossFlex brushes are designed to provide a long operational life, lowering the total cost of use compared to other brush options. They are available in a variety of grits — 120, 180, 240 and 320 grit — to achieve the desired finish, along with offering increased brush-to-part contact to remove even the heaviest burrs compared to nylon tube brushes. Flexible nylon stems distribute pressure evenly, self-centering within the part to create an accurate hone. Available collet-ready brushes deliver a true center rotation and exceptional brush balance for both hand-held and automated applications. CrossFlex brushes also feature a consistent cross hatch pattern to ensure proper seating of piston rings and to retain oil for lubrication in combustion cylinders.

Weiler Abrasives announced it has raised over $68,000 to support the United Way of Monroe County, Pa. During a three-month-long company campaign, running from September to November 2018, employees pledged $38,296, and the campaign received a $30,000 corporate match. The donations will serve to support key local United Way programming initiatives for local residents facing poverty. These initiatives include access to healthy food and programming for working families, as well as critical housing services and more.

Weiler Abrasives has expanded its offering of small diameter cutting and snagging wheels for high-speed die grinders to include Tiger® AO, Tiger Zirc and Tiger Ceramic. These 2- to 4-inch diameter wheels are designed for long life and fast cutting and join the Wolverine™ value wheels already offered in this category. The 38 item-expansion provides end users in the metal fabrication and shipbuilding industry with increasing levels of cutting performance to meet their needs. Weiler Abrasives will offer the Tiger wheels with 1/4- and 3/8-inch arbor hole sizes.

Weiler Abrasives Group has announced the upgrade of its Roughneck and Wolverine 4-inch Stringer Bead wheels. The Stringer Bead wheels have been re-engineered to deliver maximum cleaning efficiency and longer life.
The new Roughneck Max is made of proprietary wire that is stronger, sharper and more resistant to breakage, even during aggressive brushing — and they deliver 40 percent more cleaning power than the closest competitor. The improved knot design provides up to twice the brush life, helping to lower the overall cost of use. Roughneck Max requires 20 percent less pressure to clean with compared to competitive brushes to help reduce operator fatigue, and allow for smooth and responsive operation.
